Pastor’s Corner

06 January, 2013

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could
remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.   Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall
vanish away. – 1 Corinthians 13: 1-8

My dearly beloved “FAMILY”

Let me begin by extending New Years greetings to both you and yours.  Only
because of God’s loving kindness and Tender Mercy, we have been spared to cross over from 2012 to 2013.  Yes, yes one more coveted opportunity and privilege to be about our Lord’s business in WORD, ACTION, DEED and PURPOSE.  The question then before us as we begin 2013 from the Pulpit to the Pew, is what shall we do with this unearned
favor??? I don’t know about you, but I am more determined than ever before to Love God MORE and to Serve Him BETTER.

In the passage cited above we note some of the most important characteristcs ,
virtues and values of life in Christ.  Central to this theme of this passage is LOVE.  Our World, our Church, our City, State, stands in need of the awesome power and strength that comes from LOVE, for Love RESTORES, Love HEALS, Love UNDERGIRDS, Love LIFTS, yes GOD IS LOVE.

The month of January is now before us.  Let us give our support for all of our
Services and special activities.

Let us be much in prayer one for another; for our many, many sick and shut-in,
infirmed, those in convalescent homes, the bereaved, and the suffering humanity

Finally, Mrs. Leffall joins in with me, along with our Associate Ministers to wish for both you and yours, for a Prosperous and Spirit Filled New Year!

Be Blessed, and Move Forward
