Pastor’s Corner – September 2008

Pastor’s Corner

The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.   – Psalms 50: 1-2

My beloved “Family” and Partners  In the Lord’s WORK

We greet you once more, it is by the tender mercies of God that we have been grated to cross over to another month … yes it is one more DAY, one more CHANCE, one more coveted privilege to be about our Lord’s BUSINESS in WORD, ACTION, DEED and PURPOSE.

The Past month was rich and rewarding in everyway.  We received new members, spirit filled Services, and we were host to an “OUREACH THRUST” with our sister Churches within our immediate community.  Our plan is to hold this “EVANGELISTIC MOVEMENT” every three months.  We closed the month on a high spiritual note with our 5th Sunday Mission Emphasis Service and on last Sunday Afternoon our “ANNUAL MISSION SERVICE”.  Sis. Marie White-Fuqua who gave eight years of exemplary service, passed the mantle of leadership to Sister Natalie Fisher as the new President of the MATTIE L. WRIGHT GENERAL MISSION. What a great time of worship, praise and celebration was witnessed by all who attended the Annual Mission Service.

The month of September is now before us, and we ask for your unstinted support for all of our Services and special activities.  We call your particular attention to the following:

3rd Sunday – September 21, @ 3:30 P.M. we go to

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for the Pastoral Anniversary

for Dr. & Mrs. Sylvester Washington

3rd Sunday @ 11:00 A.M.

Our “ANNUAL FAMILY HOMECOMING DAY SERVICE”

followed by our “Fellowship Feast”

We are now in the third week of our 40 Day PRAYER VIGIL.  We are so pleased at the response of members that have called to indicate their eagerness to support the “PRAYER VIGIL”.  Our sole aim is to provoke a great “SPIRITUAL BREAKTHROUGH” for our Church collectively and individually.

Finally, let us continue to be much in prayer for our many, many sick & shut in, bereaved, and suffering humanity everywhere…  KEEP THE FAITH – GOD HAS THE POWER.

May God richly bless both you and yours, and I remain

Faithfully yours

Pastor R.M. Leffall, III
