Pastor’s Corner

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;  That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the da of Christ..”  Philippians 1: 9-10

My “Precious” Loved Ones and Partners in The Lord’s Work

We praise God for being spared to cross over to another month.. For certain, and without doubt it is by the tender mercies of God that we made it to August ONE MORE DAY, yes ONE MORE GOLDEN PRIVILEDGE to be about the Lord’s work in WORK, ACTION, DEED and HOLY PURPOSE.

The past month was rich and rewarding in everyway.  The Lord added to His Church, and each Service and special activity pointed to Christ.  In the final analysis, it is all about Him.

Youth Emphasis/ Graduate Recognition Sunday

The Booster’s Annual Musical Service

Our Vacation Bible School (followed by Our Annual Church Picnic)

The National Evangelism Movement

Our Annual Men’s Day Service

We are going to Jamaica, the Planning Committee under the leadership of Sis. Jackie King, and under the auspices of the Deborah Circle of Our General Mission is meeting in prayerful preparation for our trip in April, 2009 to visit our Mission Church.  The Mission Church was organized in 1957 by Pastor F.D. Ferrell. We do request your prayers and financial support, because we want to extend our help in a substantial way to The Tabernacle of Faith Mission Church in May Pen, Jamaica, West Indies, that it might continue to thrive.  Our goal is to have a delegation of 25 members led by the Pastor, inclusive of youth, to be a part of a week of Revival and labor in support of this Ministry.

The month of August is now before us, and we do request your prayers and usual support for all of our Services and activities.  We shall host the Annual Session for Providence District Association August 11-15.  Our own Rev. Warren Henderson is the Moderator.  August 21st @ 7 P.M. we go to New Mount Calvary Baptist Church for the 46th Pastoral Anniversary for Pastor & Mrs. Lonnie Dawson, and on the 5th Sunday is our ‘Annual Mission Service.’

Let’s continue to be much in prayer for our many, many sick and shut in, hospitalized, bereaved and suffering humanity everywhere.  Our prayers go out in a most special way to the family of the late Pastor Percy Hill and the members of the Cochran Avenue Baptist Church.  Pastor Hill was one of the sons of Tabernacle. Also, to the family of Dr. Caesar Clark and the Good Street Baptist Church family in Dallas, TX. On a personal note, Dr. Clark was my longtime Pastor and friend, when I lived and worked at Bishop College in Dallas.

May God continue to shower His blessings upon both you and yours, and I Remain

Yours in Christ,

Pastor R.M. Leffall, III
