Pastor’s Corner – December 2007

My beloved:

Here we are once more at the beginning of a new month. Not only is it a “new Month”, it is the last month of the year 2007 that is swiftly coming to an end. We BLESS GOD, no we PRAISE GOD for the journey of the past days, weeks, and months that have brought us “NOW”. If the Lord does nothing else for us He’s done enough.

I have nothing but encomiums of gratitude for the Ministers, Officers, Auxiliary/Ministry Heads, and of course to every loyal member for what each has done this year to advance the CAUSE OF CHRIST in our Church. The record is that 2007 was a banner year for the TABERNACLE IN EVERYWAY. Yet while much was accomplished, we can not rest or be in a COMFORT ZONE, for much, much more must be done to heed and comply with the LORD’S GREAT COMMISSION. As for me, I remain an OPTIMIST, HAVE NO TIME FOR NEGATIVES, AND REMAIN DETERMINED TO PRESS TOWARD THE HIGH MARK OF THE CALLING FOUND N CHRIST JESUS.

We do solicit and encourage your usual support for ll our Services and special activities during this the month of December.

We are in the YULETIDE SEASON, and as a Church and as the people of God, let’s not get caught up in a WORDLY OUTLOOK. This is a time of celebrating and rejoicing, a time for remembering – THAT CHRIST IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON, SO IT’S ALL ABOUT HIM. He is God’s special gift for you and for me born in a manger.

Mrs. Leffall, joins in with me in praying for both you and yours to have a BLESSED CHRISTMAS, and that it will be a time of God’s higher favor as the year comes to a halt, and if it be GOD’S WILL that we shall be spared to cross over into the NEW YEAR to see each others faces. FOR CERTAIN, IT IS ALL IN GOD’S HAND.

Finally, let us continue to be much in prayer for our many, many sick and shut-in, hospitalized, bereaved, and for suffering humanity everywhere. Let’s reach out to theme during this “Christmas Season”, with love, compassion coupled with a caring and sharing “SPIRIT”.

Yours in the “JOY” of Christ,

Pastor R.M. Leffall

WE’RE HAVING AN ALL CHURCH CLEAN-UP

Under the direction of our Trustee Ministry, we are having a major clean-up of our Church edifice.  This effort will begin on November 12th and end on November 17th.  We are asking that all of our Ministry/Auxiliaries Head clear out all useless items so that they may be placed in the dumpster that we have ordered for this effort. We do want to clear the Church of all rubbish, clutter, closets, in fact all unused and discarded materials.  Deacon Leroy DuBose is the coordinator for this project, and you may contact him for additional information.  In this regard we do need volunteers to assist us in this undertaking.  If you are able to lend your assistance, please contact the Church with the dates and or times that you will be available.

Pastor’s Corner – November 2007

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: An the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock”

– Matthew 7:24-25

My dearly beloved “PARTNERS”

in the Lord’s Work.

Well, well, well, here we are at the beginning of the 11th month of the year 2007, a year that is quickly coming to an end. We thank and praise God for having been spared to the cross over to a brand new month “pregnant” with possibilities and opportunities. Thank God for ONE MORE DAY, ONE MORE CHANCE TO BE ABOUT HIS BUSINESS in WORD, ACTION, DEED and PURPOSE.

The past month was a rich and rewarding one in every way as we were in a month-long celebration of our 63rd year as a “Household of Faith”. We started the month on a high note and we ended the month on a high spiritual note with our Culminating Services. I would be most remiss if I did not take this opportunity to express my personal appreciation to one and all whose efforts made this a banner month for our dear Church. This includes each Minister, our Leadership for the month, our Office Staff, Service participants, Officer, Ministry/Auxiliary Leader and of course every loyal member. Please keep in mind that as we assess the PAST by all human means with the help of GOD, we must go forward and move both ONWARD and UPWARD in the NAME OF OUR LORD. Yes, for certain, “DRY BONES”, CAN BECOME ALIVE AND CLICK TOGETHER WITH THE BREATHE AND THE POWER OF GOD.

The month of November is now before us, and we do solicit your usual support and prayers for all of our Services and special activities during this month.

Let us continue to be much in prayer for our many, many sick and shut-in, bereaved, hospitalized and suffering humanity everywhere. Needless to say, our prayers and thoughts go out in a special way to all persons who were affected by the devastating “FIRESTORMS” in our region.

May God continue to shower his bountiful blessings upon both you and yours, and I ask to remain

Yours in Christ,

Pastor R.M. Leffall
